In multivariate logistic regression analysis, plasma copeptin level emerged as an independent predictor of progressive hemorrhagic injury and acute traumatic coagulopathy. Using receiver operating characteristic curves, we calculated areas under the curve for progressive hemorrhagic injury and acute traumatic coagulopathy. Copeptin plasma levels in healthy adults range from 1 to 13 pmol/L and are very sensitive to osmotic and hemodynamic stimuli similarly to AVP [48, 63, 67]. Males show slightly higher copeptin values with minimal difference in median values; age or circadian rhythm does not seem to interfere nor does food intake or menstrual cycle. Serum copeptin and albumin–bilirubin scores were independent predictors of ascites retention. The short‐term and long‐term cumulative mortality rate was significantly decreased in patients with serum copeptin >5.5 or >4.8 pmol/mL compared with patients in whom serum copeptin levels were <5.5 or <4.8 pmol/mL (P < 0.0001; P < 0.0001).

It is a reliable surrogate marker for arginine vasopressin (AVP). In contrast, for the difficult differentiation between central diabetes insipidus and primary polydipsia, a stimulated copeptin level of 4.9 pmol/L upon hypertonic saline infusion differentiates these two entities with a high diagnostic accuracy and is clearly superior to the classical water deprivation test. § In a secondary analysis, a copeptin level of more than 6.5 pmol per liter indicated primary polydipsia, and a level of 6.5 pmol or less per liter indicated complete or partial central diabetes Elevated plasma copeptin levels identify the presence and severity of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in obesity. Median copeptin levels were different in patients with central diabetes insipidus (3.39 pmol/L, IQR 1.99–3.90), salt overload (53.19 pmol/L, IQR 34.39–85.95) and dehydration-induced hypernatraemia (54.95 pmol/L, IQR 35.01–71.70) (P = 0.001). The copeptin cutoff level of 4.9 pmol per liter (prespecified) is indicated in red, and the cutoff of 6.5 pmol per liter (derived post hoc) is indicated in blue. The copeptin and NT-proBNP levels for all CHF patients were 14.22 ± 6.38 pmol/L and 1026.55 ± 311.38 ng/L, respectively (Fig.

Copeptin level

The levels of copeptin are slightly higher in men than in women and are not influenced by age. In response to serum osmolality fluctuations, the kinetics of copeptin are comparable to those of vasopressin. Copeptin - The Copeptin test is used in the diagnosis of central diabetes insipidus and in the differential diagnosis of central or nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. It is a reliable surrogate marker for arginine vasopressin (AVP).

There were increased in apelin-36 level, copeptin, fasting insulin level, HOMA-IR, LH level, LH/FSH ratio and free testosterone level and lower FSH and E 2 levels when comparing patients with PCOS with controls, while non-obese PCOS patient's exhibit increased TG level, LH/ FSH ratio and free testosterone but lower FSH and E 2 levels than matched controls. Copeptin, a marker of vasopressin, in abdominal obesity

Copeptin elevations were found in critically ill patients with sepsis and multiple traumas, 2,3 in acute myocardial infarction, 4,5 in patients with chronic heart failure, 6 and in patients with acute stroke. 7,8 In patients with stroke, copeptin elevation has been shown to be an independent predictor of poor functional outcome and mortality.

2019-05-31 · In both groups, copeptin levels were induced by 2.5-fold upon exercise (p<0.001), from 4.5–10.6 pmol/l in the placebo, and 4.3–11.3 pmol/l in the anakinra group, (p = 0.38). One hour after exercise, copeptin levels dropped to 7.7 and 7.9 pmol/l in the placebo and anakinra group, respectively (p = 0.58). apelin-36 level, copeptin, fasting insulin level, HOMA-IR, LH level, LH/FSH ratio and free testosterone level and lower FSH and E 2 levels when comparing patients with PCOS with controls, while non-obese PCOS patient's exhibit increased TG level, LH/ FSH ratio and free testosterone but lower FSH and E 2 levels than matched controls.
